Celebrating Generations of Excellence: Von’s 1000Spirits Named One of PSBJ Family Business of The Year

March 21st marked a momentous occasion for our team at Von’s 1000Spirits as we had the honor of receiving one of the prestigious Family Business of The Year awards from the Puget Sound Business Journal. This recognition holds immense significance for us, not just as a business but as a testament to the legacy of hard work, dedication, and family values that have been the cornerstone of our journey.

Our story began over three decades ago when Tim Firnstahl, the father of our owner Missy Claridge, opened the doors of Von’s RoastHouse at 6th and Pine. From its humble beginnings, Von’s RoastHouse quickly became a beloved fixture in the community, renowned for its warm hospitality and the city’s best manhattan bargain. In 2012, Missy took the reins of the family business, embarking on a journey to reimagine and elevate the legacy her father had built. Her brother in-law, Jason Amador, who has a long family history of bakers, became Executive Chef.

The transformation was nothing short of remarkable. Under Missy’s leadership, Von’s 1000Spirits emerged as a beacon of culinary excellence and community spirit. With a commitment to honoring tradition while embracing innovation, she created a dining experience that still resonates with locals and visitors alike.

Receiving the Family Business of The Year award is a testament to the dedication and passion poured into every aspect of Von’s 1000Spirits. It is a recognition of the hard work of our entire team and the unwavering support of our loyal patrons who have become an integral part of our extended family.

As we stand on this stage of recognition, we are filled with gratitude and humility. This award not only celebrates our past achievements but also serves as a reminder of the responsibility we carry towards our community and future generations. We are committed to continuing our legacy of excellence, providing a welcoming space where people can gather, connect, and celebrate life’s moments, big and small.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Puget Sound Business Journal for this honor and to everyone who has been a part of our journey. Together, we look forward to creating many more memories and serving our community with the same passion and dedication that has defined us for over three decades.
